A dental professional can tell a lot about your health just by glancing into your mouth. As a health care professional, I noticed what an inadequate diet could do to a persons teeth. Although I really enjoyed my patients, I felt I was unable to fully help them at the office so I switched career paths to education and wellness instead of slapping bandaids over chronic conditions. I have a lot of respect for health care professionals and I would never discount their work, however, I had a different path in mind for myself. Oral health indicates overall health

For example, gum disease is actually a symptom of excess acidity in the body. Instead of performing surgery, we should be educating individuals on how to get their bodies to an alkaline state in order to ward off further deterioration. Heavy plaque build up on an individuals teeth could be an indicator of arteriosclerotic plaque build up which is calcium deposits in the arteries. A great way to get natural fluoride in your diet is through consuming: brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, beets and watercress. Obtaining fluoride in this way allows the body to assimilate the fluoride. Our water supply and tooth paste are other sources of fluoride that are synthetic and are made from chemicals in factories. Implementation: There are over 400 different bacteria that live in your mouth so be kind to your teeth and gums. If do not currently floss, begin incorporating this practice into your routine at least three days a week.
