Eat Yourself Beautiful

Look for foods that create beauty from the inside out. Instead of coating yourself in chemical laden beauty products, why not try to get healthy skin from the foods you eat. Our skin is our largest organ so we should take special care of our skin as it works to protect us from the world around us.

You may have noticed as I have, that as women age their skin shows it much more than men. Men seem to age gracefully while wrinkles and fine lines appear at a faster rate in women. One reason for this is women use makeup on a daily basis, we wash our faces with cleansers laced with chemicals and then apply creams full of parabens and stabilizers. The toxins in these products are compounding and stress our skin cells. Avoid beauty products with parabens and stabilizers, many of which have been proven to cause cancer as the chemicals compound in the body.

Parabens are also know as preservatives. It is a known medical fact that parabens are endrocrine system disruptors including disrupting estrogen levels. Parabens stimulate breast cancer and anything absorbed through the skin may be as high as 10 times the concentration of an oral dose. It is a low-cost synthetic preservative for which many large cosmetic brands have tried to fund studies to prove that prolonged usage is safe; all studies failed. Parabens are used in many personal products as a preservative to extend the shelf life of products. A good rule of thumb is not to put anything on your skin that you can not eat. If you would like a list of stabilizer and paraben free products we have a few product to recommend.

There are many foods which provide skin health benefits. Here are some foods that give glowing skin, so be sure you include them in your diet: avocado, berries, salmon, almonds, whole grains, green tea, yogurt, carrots, sweet potatoes and tomatoes.

Implementation: Go through your personal hygiene products at home and look for ingredients such as: Propylene Glycol, Petroleum, Mineral Oil, Sodium Fluoride, Triethanolamine, Sodium Laurel Sulfate, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, IIsoparaben and Butylparaben for starters. I would suggest getting rid of any products with these items in them as they are harmful to your skin and toxic to your body in general. There are alternative that are better and less expensive then many items on the market.

Affirmation: I rejoice in what I have, and I greet the new with open arms. I breathe in the fullness and richness of life.

Cultured Foods Promote A Healthy Gut

“Yogurt, sauerkraut, kim chi and other fermented foods, we use these foods to help us with good digestion as they replenish the good bacteria that colonize our intestinal tract” – Daniel Vitalis

Fermented foods introduce helpful probiotics to our guts. There are tons of possible benefits to adding probiotics (whether by supplement or by fermented foods) to your body, including protection from colon cancer, relief from lactose intolerance, diarrhea, reduction in cavities and helps prevent inflammatory bowel disease. So many illnesses begin in the gut so it is important to introduce healthy bacteria into your diet daily.

Cultured foods help to repopulate the digestive tract, help the body to be more alkaline, and greatly decrease cravings for sweets or deserts. Cultured foods are “super foods” because they are partially digested, so the nutrients are readily available with little work for your body. Cultured foods actually add to the enzyme stores of your body. In addition, they help restore balance if your body is in a toxic, acidic condition. Besides providing an abundance of friendly bacteria, these enzyme- rich foods are a high-quality, alkaline, expansive food, which balances out the foods that make us crave acid- forming sugars.

Implementation: Add probiotic producing foods to your diet, your gut will thank you.

Affirmation: I am in charge of my own perspective and I have the power to change it, even though I may not have the power to change external events.

Spicy Cilantro Lime Fish Tacos

These spicy cilantro lime fish tacos are divine and oh so healthy. We really do not need a recipe to create these delicious tacos however, this is what I did.

1. Thinly slice red cabbage and onion, set aside.
2. Dice cherry tomatoes and avacado.
3. Chop cilantro.
4. Cook fish in a skillet. I used Mahi Mahi but you can use any white flaky fish. I seasoned
it with garlic powder and Mrs. Dash. Shred meat and set aside. (You can use a little
coconut oil so you prevent the fish from sticking to the pan.)
5. Sauce it up. In a blender add: 1/2 cup mayo, 1/2 cup sour cream, 1 lime juiced, 2 cloves
of garlic and 1 whole jalapeño.
6. Warm the tortilla shells in a skillet and then assemble your tacos. ENJOY!

Butter vs. Margarine, there is a huge difference

We have all seen the “I Can’t Believe Its Not Butter” commercials where they tell us this spread is more like butter, however its not butter and its not good for us. Margarine was originally manufactured to fatten turkeys. When it killed the turkeys, the people who had put all the money into the research wanted a payback so they put their heads together to figure out what to do with this product to get their money back. It was a white substance with no food appeal so they added yellow coloring, put it in a pretty gold foil and sold it to people to use in place of butter.

Butter is slightly higher in saturated fats at 8 grams; compared to 5 grams for margarine. Eating margarine can increase heart disease in women by 53% over eating the same amount of butter, according to a recent Harvard Medical Study. Eating butter has benefits such as it increases the absorption of many other nutrients in our foods.

Margarine triples the risk of coronary heart disease, increases total cholesterol and increases the risk of cancers up to five times, it lowers quality of breast milk, decreases immune response, and decreases insulin response. The kicker is that margarine is one molecule away from being plastic and shares 27 ingredients with paint!

Science Experiment:
Set a plate out side that contains a piece of margarine on it and piece of butter on it. Come back in a few days and you will notice that with the margarine no flies or ants will have touched it. It will not smell differently and nothing will be growing on it because even the insects know it is not food and they are not interested in consuming something that has no nutritional value.

Affirmation: I choose what I eat wisely and I listen to my body. I am my ideal weight and I am in good health. I look amazing!

Women In Business

I want to talk with the ladies for a moment. As women in business we have an advantage over the fellas. It is not about competing or using our sexuality, it is just a fact of the industry. The Direct Selling Association (DSA) did a tally and found that about 78% of direct sellers are from women in business. With such a high percentage of women starting businesses in the industry the question is “Why are women great network marketers?” women in business

The simple answer is this industry focuses on our strengths of multitasking, nurturing relationships, communication and full-filling our desire to balance work and home life. It makes sense that direct selling is a woman dominated industry because networking comes so naturally to us. We can attain our professional goals making a full-time income while working part-time. Being able to stay at home to support our families gives us peace of mind. We are able to have the best of both worlds.

Women in business can get to the heart of an issue and figure out another persons “WHY” quickly. We are programed to be nurturing and relationship orientated. We tend to share information a lot more freely. Through open communication we can learn things from friends in a matter of minutes that men (no offense guys) wouldn’t figure out for months. We would all love to have more active people in our organizations and the bottom line is people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. women in business

We all have the same 24 hours in a day to accomplish all that we set out to accomplish. Typically men take the corporate path while women tend to focus on personal branding. Generally women function on emotions and building relationships while men function on logic and the techniques of the business. women in business

When we start our business we have the opportunity to brand ourselves as we choose. Branding can be done corporately or personally.women in business

Also, women can easily approach both sexes with a natural non-intimidating approach to communicating. Sometimes women get intimidated by men pitching them and men tend to be more open when approached by a female. When a man approaches another man there may be the tendency to challenge each other or to square up. Instead of being in the competitive mindset as women we look at motivating, encouraging and being creative with others. In life we are either going to influence or be influenced, it’s all about the approach.women in business

Our mission is to empower and educate men and women to pre-sue their unique passions and utilize their talents in this business. Men and women have have different skill sets and luckily we can work together to make a big impact. The fact is everyone wants to be a part of something bigger than themselves, they want to know a secret and they want to feel special. When we hone in on these three points we can help men and women build their dreams in this business. women in business

Now fellas since you couldn’t resist reading this forward to an influential woman in your life and ladies keep building those relationships, nurturing the team and building your legacy. women in business

Add Healthy Fats To Your Diet

“Getting the right kind of fat in your diet is important. Cheap low grade fats like corn oil, soybean oil and canola oil are not good for us in the long term. Partially hydrogenated fats are the worst, found in cookies and crackers, margarine and butter spreads, these are highly processed and damaged fats. Healthy fats are the natural fats found in avocado, chia seeds and wild caught salmon, high in anti- inflammatory omega 3 fatty acids” – Mike Adams

The downside for consumers is the dangerous trans fats that are formed with hydrogenation. The ingestion of partially hydrogenated vegetable oils and the trans fats that are formed with this process have been linked to increases in cancer, heart disease, and many other chronic degenerative disorders. What is wrong with trans fats? Trans fats, formed during hydrogenation, are actually toxic substances for our cell membranes. When our cells contain an overabundance of trans fats, the cells become leaky and distorted. This can promote vitamin and mineral deficiencies. It is not always easy to make sense of the research on trans fats but here’s the short answer: if you can avoid trans fats, you should.

Have you tried a ‘fat-free’ diet before and it didn’t really work like you expected it to? You thought you were going to shed pounds of fat, when you actually only shed half of that? You ended up getting frustrated and gave up on the diet – wondering why it didn’t work. Truth of the matter is…we all actually need fat in our diet. Fat helps your body absorb nutrients, helps the transmission of information in your nerves, and keeping your cell membranes healthy. Good fats help to lower your total cholesterol. They also help to get rid of the bad cholesterol by raising your good cholesterol. Good fat can also help to cushion and protect the internal organs of your body, while transporting the fat soluble vitamins A, D, K, E throughout your body. Good fats are an essential part of any flat stomach diet as they are a source of energy. The good fat becomes a concentrated source of energy that will help you lose weight. A fun way to get healthy fats is through flavored olive oil.

Implementation: Add healthy fats to your diet by keeping walnuts, almonds, hazelnuts and cashews on hand to snack on. Add avocado to your salads. Supplement your diet with fish oils.

Affirmation: I truly believe that we are here to bless and prosper each other. I reflect
